"I got the Caballe Christmas album... I have to say that i do love it ... the girl can still sing at sixty-six years of age. She is amazing! Also, I wanted to tell you that you must include her recording of "La Boheme" as one of the all time greats."

" I share your feelings and emotions of La Suberba and know you will be...enriched by my personal interaction with our Diva..... It was 1979 when I was fortunate enough to see the first of what would come to be many concerts of Senora Caballe. It was in the city of Makati in the province of Manila Philippines. Her voice, as always, was divine, untainted, thrilling and pure. May I say...angelic.

The program notes made a particular impression on me... I treasure this program ,as the memories that accompany it. In 1996 in San Francisco, California, our paths crossed as she was doing a signing in a local record store. I proudly offered her the cherished playbill from the Philippines for her signing. She was........speechless. Asking if I had attended, starstruck, I nodded. We both giggled and compared memories of that amazing evening. Upon leaving the double doors of the record store I had to ask myself, was this approachable, delightful woman that I had just taken a trip down memory lane with REALLY the same as the one who leaves me breathless in a darkened house? Yes, it was."

" I first heard Caballe a long time before I knew 'who she was'. I borrowed a copy of Sutherland's Turandot. I was just beginning to get to know about opera, and it was an excellent choice. Sutherland's singing was glorious, as expected, ... but the surprise for me was the work of Caballe, who displayed the voice of a dove. Literally. I've been listening to her ever since. "

" Today I was so lucky to find your site devoted to Montserrat Caballe. I live in Russia, Siberian town Kemerovo. For the first time in my life I watched Montserrat Caballe on TV in 1974. It was "Norma" broadcasted from the Bolshoi Theatre also with Fiorenza Cossoto. Their duet almost killed me. By that time my Goddess among opera stars was Elena Obraztsova. I had heared her twice at the Bolshoi live in "Il Trovatore" and "Boris Godunov" in winter 1973. I was a student spending my winter vacation in Moscow...

The first time I heared Montserrat Caballe, earlier than on TV, (was) through1972 Russian magazine "Krugozor" (which) published an article about Montserrat and attached a thin plastic record with that famous scene from "Il pirata". Quality of that record was poor, but still impression of her singing was unforgettable. So instead of one Goddess I've got two, both equally worshipped.(Later, when I found a set of records of "Norma" with Maria Callas it bacame the Triumvirate!)At that time in Russia it was not possible to get records made in the West."
