The Herald Tribune's John Gruen wrote of the event: (from the book "MONTSERRAT CABALLE CASTA DIVA" by Robert Pullen and Stephen Taylor) THE FOLLOWING IMAGES AND TRIVIA ARE FROM CLAUDIA WEBER FROM GERMANY
NOW CLAUDIA SHARES WITH US A COMPLETELY CHARMING TRIVIA:
In the late 90's Caballe appeared in television advertising the popular German brand of perfume called "4711 - Echt Kölnisch Wasser", a brand that has been around for a long time. In the advertisement, Caballe was standing behind a long line of un-named perfumes in their bottles. She then sang a melody with an extended high note, during which the bottles started to shatter one by one, except for the bottle of "4711", of course! At the end of the commercial advertisement, Montserrat is heard saying: "Ich mag's klassisch". (I like it classical). Apparently, she also made or released a CD in Germany, called, you guessed right, "Ich mag's klassisch".
